1976 CORVETTE L-82, 4 SPEED. I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 2006 WITH 62,776 MILES FROM A RETIRED TEACHER, WHO PURCHASED YEARS EARLIER FROM A RETIRED DOCTOR, SO THIS CAR HAS HAD 3 ADULT OWENERS (I'M 54) WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR IT WAS DIRTY AND UNCARED FOR, IT WAS A TOY HE KEPT AT HIS LAKE HOUSE. I HAVE OVER 15 THOUSAND IN RECIEPTS FOR PARTS AND LABOR WITHOUT THE COST OF THE CAR. THE ENGINE AND TRANS WERE REMOVED DEGREESED, PAN DROPED NEW BEARINGS INSTALLED, OFFENHAUSER MANIFOLD, EDELBROCK ALUMINUM HEADS AND CARB, COMP CAM, NEW CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE, NEW RADIATOR WITH CORE SUPPORT. CAR WAS THEN WET SANDED AND POLISHED. NEW FRONT CARPET, NEW RADIO SPEAKERS, NEW BOTTOM CUSHINS FOR SEATS. FRONT AND REAR SUSPENSION WAS COMPLETLEY REMOVED AND GONE TROUGH. SPRINGS, POLY BUSHINGS, OVERSIZED SWAY BARS, TRAILING ARMS, REAR END TOTALLY REBUILT WITH ALL NEW BEARINGS. IDLER ARM, BALL JOINTS, ALL NEW BRAKES, ETC ETC. (I KNOW IM MISSING THINGS). I HAVE ENJOYED THIS CAR FOR 4 YEARS AND IT NOW HAS 68,883 MILES. I DRIVE IT WHEN EVER I FEEL LIKE, YES EVEN IN THE RAIN AND NEVER IN THE SNOW. I FEEL THESE LATE 70S CORVETTES ARE A GREAT BARGIN. THIS CAR IS LIKE DRIVING A LATE 60S EARLY 70S 327/365HP OR A 70'S LT1. IT HAS A CLOSE RATIO BW TRANS WITH 373 GEAR. THIS CAR HAS ORIGINAL 1971 AMERICAN TORQ THURSTS WITH FIRESTONE INDY TIRES, OR IF YOU PREFER RALLYS WITH RADIAL T/A'S. lT HAS ITS ORIGINAL JACK AND NEVER USED ORIG SPARE ALSO. I DO NOT HAVE THE CARRIER INSTALLED THOUGH BUT WILL COME WITH THE CAR. BUT WILL NEED NEW HARDWARE TO INSTALL. I KNOW THE PICS LOOK GREAT, BUT THE CAR DOES HAVE ORIGINAL PAINT! THERE ARE CHIPS, NICKS, THIN SPOTS ETC ETC. THE CAR REALLY COULD USE NEW WEATHER STRIPS AND PAINT. ALTHOUGH I WOULD PULL THE MOTOR ONE MORE TIME AND BORE AND STROKE THE ORIGINAL 4 BOLT MAIN L-82 BLOCK TO 383 AND INSTALL A TREMAC 383 BEFORE I WOULD PAINT IT. I HAVE OWENED A LOT OF CORVETTES AND MUSCLE CARS FROM 427'S TO LT-1'S YENKOS AND THIS ONE HAS BEEN FUN TO DRIVE. I PREFER A PERSONAL INSPECTION OF THE CAR IF POSSIBLE. I CAN ALSO PUT YOU IN THOUCH WITH MY MECHANIC THAT DID ALL THE WORK AND HAS JUST CHANGED THE VALVE COVER GASKETS AND TIGHTEND EVERTHING UP THIS SPRING. I HAVE THIS ONE AND '74 WITH A 383 AUTOMATIC. WIFE SAY ONE HAS TO GO BEFORE ANOTHER HARLEY COMES INTO THE GARAGE. |
